| Registration is now open
for the Central South Dakota Water Festival
Fourth graders in Central South
Dakota are invited to participate in the Water Festival, a
hands-on learning event about water. We give our water
festival a South Dakota focus to help you address multiple
standards with this event.
At the Water Festival, students might
visit with a homesteader woman, map their way through the
water cycle, learn about South Dakota fish or identify
tracks found in nearby grasslands.
New This Year:
Downloadable Puppet Show
One of our sessions is a puppet show featuring wetlands
creatures. We have developed a second show, using the
same characters, that you can download and use in your
classroom. The second show has six
speaking roles plus "audience participation" so the
entire class can participate.
This activity can be used to
meet the following 4th Grade standards:
4.R.1
4.R.2
4.R.3
4.LVS.1
