Would You Have Gone with Lewis & Clark?
Don't miss a great teachable moment! The
bicentennial commemoration of the Lewis & Clark
Expedition is from 2003 to 2006. This exciting
adventure story is full of science, history and
literature that will thrill your students. South
Dakota’s own scholar/storyteller will have your
students considering “Would they have gone with
Lewis & Clark?” Shows also available on “Christmas
on the Trail” and “Encounters, Escapes and
Escapades.”
Maximum: 50 students Sessions: 6 per day
Wonderful Watersheds!
We all live in a
watershed! Explore the concepts of watershed
through hands-on activities. Simulate a
watershed with a piece of paper. Map the
journey of a water molecule with beads.
Explore the effect of buffers on non-point source
pollution.
Maximum: 25 students Grades 4 - 8. Sessions: 6 per day. Solids, Liquids, Gases
Believe it or not,
not everything boils at 100 degrees C and freezes at
0 degrees C. Experiment with what happens to
balloons, rubber balls, hot dogs and flowers when
they meet with liquid nitrogen and dry ice. Learning
about the states of matter has never been so
exciting.
Maximum: 25 students Sessions: 6 per day Presto Change-O!
Is it magic or is
it science? Students will be amazed when they
witness our scientist explode a mini-elevator, turn
water into cherry soda and create a rainbow in a
bottle. The show ends with an increased
understanding of chemistry terms and an enthusiasm
for science.

Starlab Astronomy
Using the hundreds of
stars projected on the ceiling of our portable
planetarium, our educator will demonstrate how to
use the Big Dipper as a guidepost to the major
constellations and explain the fundamentals of
astronomy.

The Lakota Nation
has always looked to nature for its guidance. View
the constellations as they see them. Learn how they
used the constellations as maps, clocks and for
teaching life lessons to their children.
