Imagination Station is Back! This year, our activities are designed for children involved in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts or 4H to work on their achievements.

Registration Information
• Ages: 7-12 yr.
• Time: 3:30-5:00pm
• Cost: $9 per class
• Scholarships available upon request

November 15
Eat Right, Stay Healthy
Join us as we discover how much fun staying healthy can be! We will whip up a yummy (and healthy) snack, get our bodies moving with some cool workouts that are more fun than work, and play a game to learn about the food groups.
Girl Scouts: Brownies earn Eat Right, Stay Healthy or My Body, work towards Make It, Eat It; Juniors earn Food Power or Fun and Fit, work towards A Healthier You, Highway to Health, Let’s Get Cooking,
Boy Scouts: Work towards the Cooking and, Athletics badges
4-H: Healthy Lifestyles project
 

December 20
Mad Scientist Lab
Let your Inner-Mad Scientist out! Learn how to use real lab equipment and mix up some chemical potions that will blow your socks off! In this hands-on workshop you will explore the world of science with mysterious mixtures that stretch, pop and bubble.
Girl Scouts: Brownies earn Science Wonders; Juniors work towards these badges: Making it Matter, Science Discovery, Science in Everyday Life and Science Sleuth
Boy Scouts: work towards the Chemistry badge

 
January 24
Cooking Up Culture
Learn about geography, customs, culture and cuisines of Mexico in this fun class! We will do some salsa dancing, make a delicious Mexican snack, and play some traditional games. This class will be held at the Riggs High Family & Consumer Science room.
Girl Scouts: Brownies work towards Around the World or earn People of the World; Juniors earn Celebrating People or Let’s Get Cooking
Boy Scouts: work towards the Cooking badge
4-H: Healthy Lifestyles, Family and Consumer Science projects


February 21
Aerospace
Up, up and away! Does the study of flight interest you? If so, you will have a blast in this class! Experiment with an air engine, construct and launch a Delta Wing Glider, graph the results and even build a working model of a hot air balloon.
Girl Scouts: Juniors: earn Aerospace
Boy Scouts: work towards Aviation badge
4-H: Technology and Engineering project



March 13
Sensibilities

We use our five senses to make sense of the world around us. Learn about the wonders of each sense through hands-on activities and fun games.
Girl Scouts: Brownies: earn Senses; Juniors work towards these badges: Making Music, and Visual Arts
Boy Scouts: work towards the Music badge
4-H: Expressive Art project

April 3
Outdoor Adventure
Let’s get outdoors and have some fun! Have you ever had a scavenger hunt with a GPS system? Let’s try some geo-caching! Have you identified animal tracks or bird sounds in the woods? Let’s be nature detectives and see what we can find! We will play games to identify pelts from animals indigenous to South Dakota and make a fun nature craft.
Girl Scouts: Brownies earn Eco-Explorer, Outdoor Adventurer, or Watching Wildlife; juniors work towards finding Your Way, Outdoor Fun, Wildlife or earn Your Outdoor Surroundings
Boy Scouts: work towards the Nature, and Environmental Science badges
4-H: Earth Science and Environment, Personal Development, Biological Science projects

Girl Scouts please note:
You may earn only one merit badge per class. If more than one badge is offered for a class, you may choose which badge you would like to earn.

You may work towards as many qualifying badges as you like. If you bring your Girl Scout BadgeBook to class, our staff will sign the page, indicating that you have completed a portion of the requirements for that particular badge.
Brownies are required to complete four activities per badge and Juniors are required to complete at least six activities per badge.
